Hello and welcome to my online farm. My name is John and I have been farming here in Shropshire for ten years. The farm is situated at the edge of the Shropshire plain, nestling below the Welsh hills. We keep about 320 fresian milking cows here, as well as youngstock and a small flock of sheep.
On the site I will show you how the animals are cared for and where they live. I will also explain the methods used to produce milk on the farm and why we farm they way we do. There is continual live footage of the animals through the cow cam page where you can click in to see cows grazing the grass, being fed and even giving birth. I have three dedicated cameras at the moment, where you can view the animals day and night. If you join me on twitter I will tweet you when a cow is calving so you can watch it Live on cow cam.
There is also a daily blog where I will be explaining the day to day jobs happening and give you a picture of life on a modern farm. I will continuously be updating the site and adding photos and videos too. Please feel free to comment so that I can work to improve the site and bring you the best possible online experience.
As a footnote I would like to thank:-
Richard and the team at Gloversure.
The genius of Les at Camsecure for providing the streaming feeds from the farm.
Vicky for putting up with me during the development of the site (and now too).
And the kids for being so fab with a special mention to George for helping me build and paint The Daisytron.
